New York Steel Benefit

THE ACE FREHLEY BAND JOINS STAR STUDDED BILL FOR WTC BENEFIT SHOW

New York, NY -- After the recent terrorist attacks on New York City on September 11th, legendaryKISS lead guitarist, Ace Frehley, a native of "The Big Apple," felt compelled to lend his support to his beloved city.

Frehley is set to take part in "New York Steel," a benefit show to be held on November 28th at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. All proceeds from the event will be channeled to families of the New York Police and Fire Department who lost loved ones in the WTC tragedy.

"New York gave me life and celebrity status and my performing at the concert would give me a chance to give a little back to the city I've always loved, particularly to the familes of our fallen firefighters and police officers and their familes. Long live New York and Rock'n'Roll." The event, hosted by New York Mets star, Mike Piazza and WNEW-FM radio personality, Eddie Trunk, will showcase an impressive cast of New York and New Jersey based rock acts including a recently reunited Twister Sister, former Skid Row singer, Sebastian Bach, Anthrax, Overkill, and special guests.

The Ace Frehley Band will perform a short set of Ace's best classic rockers. Frehley's lineup will include longtime friend guitarist Richie Scarlet, bassist Karl Cochran and Steve "Budgie" Warner on drums.

"It's been awhile since I performed as a solo artist with my band. We're just gonna get up on stage for 30 plus minutes and kick ass."

A recent inductee into the Bronx Walk Of Fame, Frehley's profund love of his hometown is expressed in his 1978 chart hit, "New York Groove" which he will perform live that evening.

Tickets for the event are available for $37.50 or $40 day of show and can be purchased through Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com or the Hammerstein Ballroom box office.

...Unless you really know New York, which we do despite not living or working there, there's a feeling that can't be explained. And imagine looking at Dallas without Reunion Tower. Looking at that skyline with a gaping hole is going to be a hard-hitting reminder of this.

We're okay for now. You cannot imagine the carnage in this city. I never thought I'd see something like this.

And some that weren't so lucky...

For once, us loudmouths from the Streetwalkin' Cheetahs are at a loss for words. The September 11th tragedy is shocking and leaves the band sad and breathless and gasping for air. Everytime I see pictures on the web and images on TV, I start to cry. We live in L.A. but have many friends and family members in NY and our hearts go out to everyone in NY and DC and Pennsylvania who is suffering as a result of these horrific events. I know it made me feel a whole lot better when I spoke to my grandparents in Manhatten to know they were alright. Our prayers go out to the friends and family of Johnny Hef, guitarist for New York punk rawkers The Bully's, and band we have shared the stage with several times. Hef is a New York City fireman and has been missing since the Twin Towers collapsed. His crew was one of the first called to the scene at the World Trade Center and although he spoke to his wife before the collapse he has been missing since. Like many, many Americans in these cities, Johnny is a hero. Let's just try to band together and work hard to overcome this disaster. Be poitive and stay focused.

A moment of silence for our brothers and sisters around the nation...
